The biggest change to date by far, is the post October weekly drives down to PRM. While we kept annual moorage for BoB, she would have been pulled out long ago and our slip would be sitting empty... requiring absolutely zero attention. While there was lots of good intentions to get every little thing crossed of my 'to-do' checklist for Volti, the truth is we were just too busy enjoying her. So with the (for here) hard cold snap (-8 c. Fri. night), it's meant some additional cold weather precautions -mostly setting up some additional low output heaters to keep things from getting too cold. Mid-day yesterday, there was ice formed on the salt-water basin about six slips out from shore. While it was pretty slushy there, it was becoming pretty firm at about the 4th slip from shore. Certainly not typical for here. Like with BoB, I'm tryingto resist leaping into too many projects the first year -electing to wait and learn how to live with her first- and I think I'm getting a clearer picture already. Rather than going the electrical heater route, I'll likely install some some conductive heating within the cooling system -slightly more to set up initially, but simplifying things greatly thereafter. At least that's the plan for spring -for now, turn on the heaters. :^)
